Jane was born in West Palm Beach, Florida. She received a B.A. in Plan II from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986 and a J.D. from UT Law School in 1989.
Jane was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1989. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals, Fifth, Eighth, Eleventh, and District of Columbia Circuits; and the U.S. District Courts, Southern, Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas.
After graduating from law school, Jane served as a law clerk to the Honorable Reynaldo G. Garza, Senior United States Circuit Judge for the Fifth Circuit. She joined SD&M in 1990.
Jane's areas of practice include appellate law and general civil litigation, with an emphasis on oil and gas litigation, land use litigation, and professional malpractice defense. She is board certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She is a Barrister member of the Robert Calvert Chapter of the American Inns of Court.
Jane enjoys reading, travel, and swimming with her little boys, Eddie and Sam.
