Representing the owner of a hospital under construction in Lake Travis, SD&M attorneys Abe Kuczaj, Paige Amstutz, and Steve Wingard prevailed after a two-week-long jury trial in a breach-of-contract case. In its verdict handed down on August 27, 2014, the jury found defendants breached their confidentiality agreement with Lake Travis Specialty Hospital and caused $7.9 million in damages. The court also awarded SDM’s client $2 million in attorneys’ fees. The final judgment is on appeal, with an injunction in place precluding dissipation or transfer of assets to avoid satisfaction of the judgment.
