SDM’s Jane Webre and Kennon Wooten will be featured speakers at the upcoming 26th Annual Conference on State and Federal Appeals on June 9-10 in Austin. Jane will discuss attorney disqualification, including rules regarding migrating lawyers and former judicial law clerks and the role regarding Chinese Walls to screen conflicts and avoid disqualification of a firm. Kennon will address dismissal procedures under Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 91a, including how Texas courts have handled cases involving Rule 91a and the extent to which federal dismissal standards have crept into Texas jurisprudence.
