David is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer with extensive experience representing clients in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts. David has written and argued evidentiary and dispositive motions, taken and defended depositions, served as first chair for a federal jury trial, and briefed and argued cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
David joined Scott Douglass & McConnico after serving three years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Texas. During his tenure, he led cases in representing the government as a defendant and investigating violations of federal law. Before that, David worked as an associate with Baker Botts, LLP in Austin, Texas.
David received his J.D. with high honors from the University of Texas School of Law. After graduating, David began his legal career as a law clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit to Judges Edward C. Prado and Don R. Willett, and at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas for Judge Robert Pitman.
