The 2014 U. S. News – Best Lawyers® Report has named Becky Miller as Austin’s 2014 “Lawyer of the Year” in the area of Natural Resources Law and Flip Whitworth as Austin’s 2014 “Lawyer of the Year” in the area of Oil & Gas Law. Both Becky and Flip are board certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral law. Becky has practiced exclusively in the firm's oil, gas and energy practice since she joined the firm in 1981. She has represented operators, lessees, non-operating working interest owners and lessors in oil, gas & energy litigation. Becky is an adjunct professor at the University of Texas School of Law where she teaches oil and gas law, and oil and gas leasing and regulation. She also serves as a mediator and arbitrator. Flip joined the firm in 1977 when the firm’s practice centered on oil and gas litigation and regulation. His practice continues to focus primarily on oil and gas regulatory issues and he frequently speaks and writes on oil and gas regulatory topics.
