On August 31, SDM secured a complete defense verdict for Expedia Group and its affiliates in federal court in Miami, scoring what the NYTimes called a “resounding victory” against claims brought under the Helms-Burton Act related to hotel properties in Cuba. This is the latest in a series of victories SDM has obtained in Helms-Burton Act cases around the country, including last year’s complete defense in a suit seeking more than $1.7 billion from Expedia Group in Delaware federal court.

SDM continues to lead the way in these precedent-setting, complex cases at the intersection of business, international property rights, and U.S. law.
