Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Jason LaFond to the Texas Pharmaceutical Initiative Governing Board. The Legislature created the Texas Pharmaceutical Initiative in 2023 to provide Texans with greater, and more cost-effective access to prescription drugs and essential medical supplies. In his role as a board member, Jason will help support the Initiative’s governance and oversight while advancing its public mission.

“I look forward to supporting TPI’s work to improve access to essential medications for Texans, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve,” LaFond said.

Jason will continue his litigation practice at Scott Douglass & McConnico LLP while serving on the Board. A board-certified appellate lawyer and former Assistant Solicitor General of Texas, Jason brings extensive experience in public law, administrative governance, and complex litigation involving state institutions.
