In a recently-issued order, the United States Supreme Court agreed to review a case concerning access to first-time licenses for young Texans with hearing disabilities.  Along with the Texas Civil Rights Project, SDM partner Olga Kobzar and former SDM partner Joe T. Sanders represent deaf driver’s license applicants in a suit against the state agency in charge of driver education for failing to provide accommodations in state-mandated driver education classes.  Failure to provide any accommodations effectively bars those with hearing disabilities from obtaining a driver’s license in violation of Title II of the ADA.
