Casey represents individuals, business entities, professionals, insurers and governmental entities in complex commercial litigation. His areas of emphasis include securities fraud, construction law, governmental entity litigation, professional malpractice defense and litigation related to real estate development. He is hired frequently to take over representation of a client in a case when it is only months or even weeks before trial, and also as a negotiator to instigate or take over settlement negotiations in complex matters in and out of litigation. Casey litigates in state and federal courts all over the country, and has tried jury and bench trials all over Texas and won dozens of summary judgment hearings for both plaintiffs and defendants.

Casey was welcomed as a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers in 2023, and inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in the Spring of 2019.

In 2025, Casey was named as chairman of Opportunity Austin. For more than a decade, Dobson has played a key role in shaping Opportunity Austin’s impact on the region. Joining the board of directors in 2012 and serving as vice chair since 2017, he has played a critical role in driving economic success for the Austin region. His leadership has contributed to transformative initiatives, including investments like the Tesla Inc. gigafactory. “I’m proud to step into the role as Opportunity Austin’s chairman and ready to build on the strong foundation that OA has laid to continue strengthening the Austin region’s economic momentum,” Dobson said.
